Gerrel Jones is an author, educator, and influencer who works tirelessly to improve his community. In 2016, he founded Pneuma Gallery Inc, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce violence recidivism and family dysfunction while building community. His work with prisoners and re-entry has been nothing short of remarkable. In fact, that work began while he was in prison - sentenced to LIFE for a brutal homicide in 1992 - and is the reason for his release in 2012. His understanding of criminal dysfunction and how to overcome it has added a lot to the broader conversation surrounding criminal justice reform and could very well be a major catalyst for significant change.

JHA believes it is critical to give voice to those who are currently and formerly incarcerated, bringing their lived experiences and opinions to those outside prison walls to be part of prison reform.
