JHA Commissary Survey
The issue of item unavailability through IDOC prison commissaries remains a serious concern. JHA is using this online survey to collect up-to-date information on the commissary situation from people with knowledge of current, on-the-ground experience in Illinois prisons. We would appreciate your participation in this voluntary and anonymous survey if you have information to share with us that you have learned through communication with a loved one, from your own recent experience, or some other close connection to the situation. JHA will share only de-identified information publicly and will use the information shared with us in our advocacy and public reporting on an ongoing basis. This survey will remain open through March 31st.
Responses to our survey will provide timely information about what is happening on the ground in prisons throughout Illinois. They will also help us learn more about how people’s needs are currently being met via commissary and about any ongoing deficits surrounding state provision of necessary supplies to people in custody.
Your partnership is vital as we work together to improve the situation for people in Illinois prisons around commissary disruptions. We thank you for your help, support, and ongoing commitment to fight for the safety and humanity of people who are incarcerated.
